David M. Shafer is a partner with the law firm of Garan Lucow Miller, P.C. working out of the firm's downtown Detroit office.
Since 1989, Mr. Shafer has handled a wide range of civil appeals in the firm's appellate department. The areas of his appeals include negligence, product liability, premises liability, medical malpractice, legal malpractice, contracts, governmental immunity and maritime law.
After graduating from law school and prior to working with the firm, he worked for several years in the Michigan Court of Appeals.
Mr. Shafer earned a B.A. from Wayne State University, an M.A. from the University of Detroit, and a Juris Doctorate from the Wayne State University Law School. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
